Five Holiday Activities In Cleveland

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, especially in Cleveland. The city and its surrounding areas are filled with holiday activities for all ages to participate in! 

 

Visit The “Christmas Story” House

Put on your pink bunny suit and head over to the “Christmas Story” house for a tour of where the movie was filmed! Now restored to its movie splendor, Ralphie’s house is open year round to the public for tours and overnight stays. The museum features original props, costumes and memorabilia from the film, as well as hundreds of rare behind-the-scenes photos. Tours run every hour starting at 10:00 am. The last guided tour is an hour before closing.

Winterfest in Public Square

Don’t miss out on one of Cleveland’s best Christmas traditions! WinterFest is the annual holiday celebration in Cleveland's Public Square. Head downtown for live music, dancing, and all the hot chocolate you can drink. More than 50,000 people attend the event each year. The lights will be up until after New Years and the event is free for all ages! 

 

Wild Winter Lights at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

This annual holiday light spectacular features over one million individual lights illuminating hundreds of displays spread across the zoo. There are also carousel rides, costumed characters, model train displays, ice carvers, live music, a dazzling light show with a 50-foot tree and photos with Santa, of course. Tickets, $18-$20. Drive-through experience available on select dates for $54-$60 per vehicle.

Crocker Park Holiday Experiences

Train rides, appearances from Santa, festive photo opps and more await you at Crocker Park. If that wasn’t enough, visit the shopping district’s holiday market, featuring Cleveland small businesses. The pop-up will take over a storefront near the Cheesecake Factory, now known as “Santa’s Village.”

This free event runs now through December 24th.

 

Winter RiverFest

Enjoy festive fun along the Cuyahoga as Rivergate Park and Merwin’s Wharf are transformed into a holiday village. The event, put on by Cleveland Metroparks, features ice skating, a beer garden, retail shops and reservable igloos where you can dine on a special winter menu.
